ABOUT US
Northcape Labradors was established in 1989 with the purchase
of Sandi,
my
first yellow purebred Labrador puppy. She lived up to all my expectations
of a Labrador, gentle, loving, intelligent, loved the outdoors
and
the water, hunting and the unknown.
It didn't take long before I found myself falling for this breed
and increasing in numbers. Sadly we lost Sandi,
aged 6 years due to cancer but she did leave behind a wonderful daughter
Lani who produced a litter of 15 beautiful yellow puppies on Christmas
Eve 1998. Again sadly, we lost Lani very unexpectedly on 2 November
2000.
Then came the purchase of my first pedigree black bitch puppy 'Sha'
(Chinthurst Wilamina Sha) sired by Rocheby Sailing Along At Follytower
out of Chinthurst Spun Maple. A more placid, intelligent, loving
pooch would be hard to find - always happy to please.
PS. Sha passed away very suddenly on 15 April 2010 due to a stroke. We will miss her greatly at Northcape.
Her first litter produced my chocolate 'Gemma' (Baroness SJ of
Northcape AI) sired by Cambremer Royal Monarch. Gemma had the same
traits
as her dam and again the willingness to please, but during the
birth of her 2nd litter by c-section on 7 June 2002, we lost Gemma.
Gemma left us with 8 beautiful
chocolate puppies to raise all of which went to loving, caring homes.
In our kennels presently, we have:
Northcape
Labradors breeds for quality, soundness, type and temperament and
has puppies suitable for showing, breeding, hunting, and lifelong
companionship.
All my breeding stock are hip and elbow x-rayed and hold current
clear eye certificates.
We produce yellow, black and chocolate puppies which occasionally
are available to approved homes.
